 There are many ways to get to know people on my view you. To get started, try looking at the "Blog of Blogs" or a the Community BOARD. Here you can read posts or engage in discussions with other members of the community. If you find someone interesting, you can visit their profile and send them an instant message or an e-mail. Or you can just put a note on their guestbook to let them know you've checked them out.
If you are a little more adventurous, try our A/V chat. You can chat anonymously, with or without a webcam. Use your username to log in if you want people to be able to check you out; but be courteous and do not log in with someone else's username. You can also just go to the user profiles link and you can scroll through pictures and a little information from all of our users. Consider hosting your own forum in one of our categories. You can create a forum topic and administrate it yourself. If it becomes popular, we'll give you trusted status and allow you to publish in the Community Brain. |

How do I post a YouTube video on my home pages |

There is a trick to getting YouTube videos on your User Home Pages. In the box to the right of the YouTube video screen you will see the options for: URL and EMBED, with different pieces of code specified for each option. Neither of these pieces of code will work "as-is", but it's still pretty easy to get the videos onto your site. Here's the step-by-step: - From your accessories menu, open the notepad (any similar program or word-processor will work too. Or just have a pad and a pencil ready.
- From YouTube, copy the entire code from the EMBED option and paste it into notepad.
- Within the code you have just copied, you will see a portion which looks something like this: "http://www.youtube.com/v/t7VTTFMt9ik"
- Copy only this portion of the code (WITHOUT the quotation marks!)
- In the Create a New Home Page editor, press the button that looks like a circle with an "f" in it.
- When the dialogue box opens, enter the small piece of code you have just copied into the "URL" box.
- Hit the insert key on the dialogue box.
- On your page, you should see a small yellow square with the letter "f" in it.
- Clickanywhere on the yellow square and a frame will appear around the square.
- Click and drag on any part of this frame until the yellow box is the size you want the video to be. Do not make it too big, YouTube Videos are designed to be shown small.
And that's all there is to it. |
